Description

Have you heard? Many honey bees, our plants' life-giving pollinators, seem to be disappearing! In fact, about 1/3 of our honey bees nationwide have disappeared in just the last few years. Scientists have been concerned about this for some time, but recently the problem seems to be increasing, and it is developing into a real environmental crisis. After all, the bees pollinate almost all our food crops and flowers, so without them, plants can't form seed and propagate themselves!
Read all about the Honey Bee crisis here.

That's why we've created this special mixture you can plant to be part of the solution. It's packed with honey bee friendly long-blooming flowers and super-colorful quick-bloom flowers to make the bees work a little easier, and to reduce stress on our already-stressed hives.

This mixture contains 19 wildflowers, 11 annuals for first-year color, plus 8 perennials for second and successive years' bloom. See full flower list below.

Comments about American Meadows Honey Bee Wildflower Seed Mix:

I planted 3/4 acre last spring. Despite no rain for a long period after planting, the flowers did great. Results better than I expected. I have several bee hives on my property and the bees were all over the flowers.

Comments about American Meadows Honey Bee Wildflower Seed Mix:

Bought this for my father (in Zone 8) as he says he never sees bees anymore. He tossed a bit of this seed mix near his tomato garden and the assorted wildflowers grew easily. He said he saw butterflies and even hummingbirds on them and eventually a big fat honeybee!

I SOWED THE WILDFLOWER SEEDS ON A SLOPING BANK FOR GROUND COVER & TO ATTRACT BEES, BIRDS & BUTTERFLIES; NOT TO MENTION I WON'T HAVE TO MOW. THE WILDFLOWERS WILL ATTRACT THE ABOVE MENTIONED CRITTERS TO MY ORCHARD TO POLLINATE THE FRUIT TREES. THE SEEDS WERE SHIPPED IN A BREATHABLE CLOTH BAG THAT CAN BE USED TO STORE THE REMAINDER OF THE UNUSED SEED.

Comments about American Meadows Honey Bee Wildflower Seed Mix:

Only planted the seeds a few weeks ago (right after the last frost) but I am very excited to see the results. Mixed these in with the Proven NE Wildflower Mix and some Partial Shade seeds, since I thought that would work best for my site. I've been reading a lot over the years about our dwindling Honey Bee population and I'm very excited to see if I can get some attracted to my site. The flowers will be sprouting up not too far from my veggie garden so I'm hoping for some valuable pollination!

Comments about American Meadows Honey Bee Wildflower Seed Mix:

I was so delighted by these seeds I have shared some with neighbors.
We are in a new development & there are places where the woods will remain but the lots have missing trees etc.. I planted seeds the weekend we moved in & last year they were beautiful. I can see this year that they are going to be great because they are already greening up.
I love all your products but this was by far the best investment I made for my new home.
                    Thank you.
