Germinated in a matter of only a few days! I have never seen any seed or seed mix start to grow so fast. Our weather has been mid 50'2 day and low 40's at night (Pacific North West) and I planted this in sandy & organic ground, and it is growing so fast. Planted on April 26 photo taken May 6th 2011. I planted this in the places that my dogs run in to help cover the ground and give them a nice place to visit.

I planted these seeds in my parking strip. We were so careful about mixing the seed with the right amount of sand, and we even purchased the seed spreader to spread the seed. We carefully placed large cardboard sheets over the sown seeds to lightly tap them into soil, and then carefully removed the cardboard.
Then we watered as directed, and waited, and watered, and waited.
A few seedlings came up. And the few that came up (especially the prairie coneflowers!) are beautiful.
But even with the recommended amount of seed, it's nowhere near a "lush stand of flowers."
Maybe next year it will be better, but I doubt it as the beautiful annuals will be gone.

I had such high hopes, and that made the results even more disappointing.

Excellent mix, flowers all came up and bloomed gloriously. They only required one watering a week in the middle of summer. Kept out most weeds but some weeding was necessary throughout summer.

Comments about American Meadows West Wildflower Seed Mix:

Provides great cover and control for a recently plowed field. Annuals quick to come up with initial watering. Sever heat slowed some of the bloom, however, and cover was not as great as I would have liked. Next year the perennials should emerge and give us an idea of how good the seed really is.

            Seeds Great-Gophers Better

            By Goose

from Lake Arrowhead, San Bernardino Mts. CAI

Comments about American Meadows West Wildflower Seed Mix:

I learned that, close up, a meadow is a messy thing. Plants in all stages. And in hopes of reseeding you do not clean away spent plants. It has been interesting. But I have to say that after the early blooms it looked weedy to me.

It is very dry here so watering was required. The gophers were voracious though. I actually saw a cosmos disappear!
I will see what comes back next year, but I will be sticking to pots for the most part. No blame is attached to your product.

Placed sown seed down two ways: compressed and just sown on top. Both had excellent germination rates and are now abut 5 inches high. The perennials from last year are doing amazing. I'm ready for next year so I'll see more perennial flowers than ever!

We have a corner lot and people stop and compliment us on the lovely flowers. All you need is some water and sun and the seeds will grow!

I bought several wildflower mixes (including this one) to choke out the tumble weed and goat-heads that had taken over my garden area last few years. They are doing a great job and re-seeding, which is fantastic. I really like the look of the wildflowers so I'll be devoting an area to them once the garden gets going.

Last year I purchased some wildflower seeds from a different company. I put down very good soil, planted them the way decribed on the packet and watered. Three weeks later - nothing, not one plant. I found your company, ordered the seed, planted, watered and beautiful flowers came up in about 8 days. They lasted all summer even in our dry climate. Thank you for a product you can purchase and it performs like you say it will.

Perfect! What could be easier - loosen the soil a little, spread the seeds. No need to cover, and since I did it right before a rain, no need to water. I used just a half pound this year, but I'm coming back for a few pounds next year. These will be great for wildflower photography on the wild fields right outside my door!

Perfect packaging and instructions, and almost too easy to plant. I am eagerly anticipating my spring blooms. Thanks a "bunch"!
