I'll have to wait until next year to see if the wildflower seeds do anything, but the poppy, annual, zinnia and cosmo seeds have not produced. It looke like I wasted a lot of money.

About Me Getting Started
This was my first attempt to plant and grow wild flowers.I used the product on road frontage just behind our fence. The area was about 20' wide by 300' long. I weed killed and then harrowed the area. The seeds were hand broadcast after being mixed with sand. I then drove the tractor over the entire area to compress the seeds into the ground.Germination seemed excellent. I had a beautiful sea of different colored blooms. In early August as some of the blooms faded and weeds began to grow higher than the blooming flowers. I mowed the area with a bush hog mower set as high as possible. I was able to leave 12 to 16" of plant. Now the flowers have regrown and many are in bloom again. It was easy. They looked great. My neighbors loved it, especially the neighbor with honey bees. There were so many butterflies that next year I may need to install signs that says "Slow Down-Butterfly Crossing".
Beautiful flowers the first year!

Germination rate was excellent. I put too much seed down and had to do some extensive thinning.

About Me Small Commerical Farm
Used this product as feed for honey bees and as fast growing ground cover. Worked great! Even with heavy deer browse it still produced many flowers.
Widespread and beautiful blooms

I grew these flowers for my wedding and was not dissapointed. My wedding was filled with gorgeous blooms and I had 10 times more than I could use with just 1/4 lb of seeds. It did require consistent watering and light dusting to prevent against mold and beetles, but well worth it.Germination to seed in NorthWest Ohio took 9 weeks.
Lot easier and prettier than a lawn

About Me Professional Farmer
I've been growing this mix for six years now, planting only once. Just one mowing in the late fall is the only maintenance required, reseeds itself perfectly. Every year's mix of flowers is different but no one variety has taken over.

We turned our lawns into meadows this year and this was the first bag we mixed in. WOW. Then we put in more specialized and perennial mixtures and started to add specific colored plants. It is terrific, and will be even more so next year when the seeds of the seeds return.

About Me Pretty Good Gardener
I used this mix as a wildflower area in a three acre meadow I keep mowed. It came in great and bloomed all summer. The flowers arrived in waves with plenty of color early growing taller as the summer went by with different plants blooming colorfully all the time.
Great splash of color
from Fairview, PA
I always put this mixture down with the perennial mix to add some extra color while I am waiting for the perennials to take hold. Great color and lots of complements.

Great filler for wildflower garden
from Taylorsville, KY (Louisville metro area)
I purchased an annual mix to add to the annual/perennial mix I ordered for a wildflower garden. The flowers came up more prolifically than expected and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a great accompaniment to the perennial seed. The garden required very little maintenance given it was the first year for the garden. The flowers withstood heat and periods of draught. I recommend this mix to anyone wanting a nice show of varied color.

early spring color explosion!
late summer color
from Milton-Freewater, Oregon
I planted all 250,000 seeds in a small area prone to weeds. I think all 250,000 seeds came up, although I didn't count them. Needed very little watering to keep them coming up. Thick enough growth to keep 99% of weeds out. Colors are fantastic. Planted in spring of this year and Even in October after much wind and rain, they are still blooming. I can't find anything bad to say about this product from American Meadows. Will definitely purchase from them again.

Planted heavy in trench from well repair last winter, soil was sandy, and poor. Surprised us with dainty, vivid colored flowers all summer. October, they are still going!

These did not do so well this year, but it could be because we have had the coolest and wettest summer on record. I would try them again.

Easy to sow, great germination success. Hooked up a lawn sprinler to a timer so the watering is a piece of cake. Put some of the flower seeds in a raised bed last year and they got huge! Planted a larger area this year and can't wait for all the gorgeous flowers.

About Me Master Gardener
I have used American meadows for 5 years and They are the best. I have created and enlarged a wildflower area to nearly a 1/4 acre and have never been disappointed. I have found that you may need to throw in some cosmos to stretch the blooming time into frost time. I have used the NE wildflower mix and added a few other wildflowers to it and the only problem I have is keeping the grass from taking over. Would recommend this to anyone.
Gorgeous colors every year!

We are trying to establish a piece of property for a wildflower meadow. I needed something quick to grow and cover the area so that the weeds could not get established. This was perfect and really simple. Now, here in August, and with a drought mind you, I have beautiful flowers that are a mix of colors, they are fragrant, and I'm starting to cut some for friends as gifts.

LOADS OF FLOWERS ALMOST READY TO BLOOM

Very simple. Just throw out the seeds, rake in a bit, and there ya go. Beautiful color for many months. Love to cut and bring bouquets to work to share. Butterflies loves them too.

I put these in a bed BEHIND my rose hedge so that we can see them towering over the roses. [I put the LOW grow annuals in FRONT of the roses.] Offers in-depth field of color. Attracts lots of butterflies - my favorite is the Hummingbird Moth - and offers hiding area for the toads and other little critters. All this in turn attracts the neighborhood cats and kittens, whose romping brings more joy to the whole family.
Wonderful seed. We were moving out of state and put wildflower seed and zinnia down before we left. I made sure to rake the area and tamp the seed in. We weren't there to take care of it, but an automated watering system helped create an amazing effect. The beautiful result of masses of flowers is what sold our house after only a few showings! Thank you!!!!

I planted these on the corner of our driveway in a newly cleared area. They are blooming profusely and sooo pretty.
from Fisherville, KY
I made seed balls with this product out of clay and compost. I tossed most of them in a large bare spot in the yard and gave the rest to my Mom. My spot has been blooming since about mid-June and I've had about 6 species of flowers come up. Lots of Cosmos stalks are out there ready for fall. Ironically, my mom put hers in a couple pots and she got 8-10 different flowers from the ones I got. I would buy this mix again because it is pretty and you don't have to wait to see results. I am hoping that by mowing over the patch at the end of the year, I will spread seeds and have more flowers next year.
