Comments about American Meadows Native West Wildflower Seed Mix:

We've been planting wildflowers in New Mexico for two years now. Ever year gives us more color and the birds love us. The little yellow finches come to eat some of the seed, and the bees are happy, too. We get to enjoy the color, which has lasted all summer.

Comments about American Meadows Native West Wildflower Seed Mix:

I have had a difficult time finding a mix that would grow in my high altitude, shady yard. The wildflower mix provided a complex and beautiful display. It was not too irresistible for the deer and elk.

I can't wait until next year to see how the garden wintered over.

Comments about American Meadows Native West Wildflower Seed Mix:

The seeds took well in several different Nevada climates, and as described they were safe for our alpacas. I asked what product would be safe and was given a very large well investigated amount of information from American Meadows. I wish that the alpacas would have let the plants grow so I could see them flower, but they keep them mowed down. I'll have to put a barrier up next year.

Comments about American Meadows Native West Wildflower Seed Mix:

This is the second year for my wildflowers, and with a young dog, some areas have been trampled. Others are so pretty with the different flowers growing profusely, that I am getting more seeds to do more areas and replant some old ones!
I was just telling my son this morning that I need pictures of the flowers, they are so colorful and pretty!

          USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

          • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
          • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
