Description
Wildflower native purists may not want this “man-made” wildflower in their meadows, but most people do. Basic color and sandpapery leaves are identical to its parent, the black-eyed susan, but flowers are much larger, varied in form, and most important, this species is perennial, while black-eyed susan (R. hirta) is biennial, making its yearly bloom less dependable. A truly fabulous plant for meadow color. Also great for cutting.

Prettey, hardy, dependable bloomers. The only complaint I may have is that they do tend to spread outside the desired area.

After buying a home on 4 acres of clay and struggling to get my favorites to grow; I bought some Black-eyed Susan seeds and the results were impressive. They added such wonderful color to the landscapes and were even kind enough to come back! I will continue to plant the rest of the property in these lovely Susans!
