The Brilliant Burst Dahlia Collection brings cheerful shades of summery pinks and sunny yellows to the garden. Enormous, dinner plate-sized blooms are petal packed from mid summer until frosts arrive. Fast-growing and deer-resistant, dahlias are an easy way to fill garden beds and table vases all summer long.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
The Brilliant Burst Dinner Plate Dahlia Collection includes 9 dahlias, with 3 easy-to-plant tubers each of 3 color-loaded dinner plate varieties. Dinner plate dahlias grow to a height of 4 feet, and will spread between 1 and 2 feet wide. With plants producing loads of blooms from 4 inches wide up to 10 inches wide, you'll want to slip a stake into the ground at planting time, to give your dahlias some extra support as they grow and flower (staking after they've developed their extensive foliage can be tricky).
