USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

The Champagne Bouquet Collection pairs bold color and rich texture for dynamic bouquets and flower arrangements in July and beyond. Dahlias dominate the cut flower collection in a range of warm colors, from the buttermilk-colored blooms that blush with pink and hints of barely-there latte brown of ‘Cafe Au Lait’ to ‘Edge of Joy’ Dahlia’s white and magenta swirls. For added texture, Bayou Blue® Anemone Dahlia sets frilly magenta centers against soft pink petals, while ‘Myrtle’s Folly’ Dahlia’s dense tangle of petals look like ruffled tutus. Pure white ‘Casa Blanca’ Oriental Lily adds delightful fragrance and striking form. Finally, the pink-tipped petals of ‘Sugar Love’ Lily are as playful as they come, with a compact form perfect for the front of the border. Tuck these bulbs into cottage-style plantings or use to brighten small spaces. Gardeners in cold regions will want to dig the dahlia bulbs up at the end of the season for winter storage.
