USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

What's in this Mix?

Bring home the colors of Grand Teton's iconic meadows, wherever you call home! Millions of people visit America’s national parks each year to take in the stunning and inspirational wildflower displays. Our Colors of Grand Teton Wildflower Seed Mix celebrates one of these iconic American meadows. This mix was curated to evoke the color palette of Grand Teton National Park with 21 different wildflowers, including 16 native species, to provide bountiful blooms in soft pinks, cool purples, clear blues, and golden yellows from spring through fall.

Our Limited Edition Colors of Grand Teton Wildflower Seed Mix mix includes 9 annuals, 2 biennials, and 10 perennials.

Annuals have a one-year lifecycle and bloom in the first season. Biennials have a 2-year lifecycle and bloom in the second season. Perennials return year after year, and typically start to bloom in the second or third season. See mix details below.
