The mission of KidsGardening is to create opportunities for kids to play, learn, and grow through gardening, engaging their natural curiosity and wonder. They offer inspiration and support to educators and families by way of grants, original educational resources and activities, and by cultivating a community of practice.
American Meadows started working with KidsGardening in 2017 and has been a sponsor of the KidsGardening Youth Garden Grant since 2021. Together, we are committed to getting more kids engaged in learning through the garden.

A Growing Legacy
Beginning with 50 awards in 1982, KidsGardening’s Youth Garden Grant is the oldest and longest-running award of its kind. This award is designed to build capacity for school and youth educational garden projects that enhance the quality of life for students and their communities.
For 40 years, KidsGardening has served as a premier support provider for youth garden programs nationwide. KidsGardening’s resources reach over 3.8 million young people annually, helping them engage their natural curiosity and acquire new learning through hands-on gardening experiences.
