(20-24” tall x 24” wide) ‘Jowey Morris’ Semi Cactus Dahlia brings pink perfection to the summer and fall garden. ‘Jowey Morris’ is a semi-cactus form of dahlia, characterized by several layers of broad petals that narrow significantly at the tips. The maroon-pink color is deepest at the base and gradually pales to elegant white. Plant tubers in the spring in a well-drained, average to rich soil in a sunny location. Dahlias can tolerate partial shade, but flowering is reduced. Try to find a spot where the tall stems are protected from wind. In cooler climates, dig the tubers in fall, and store in a cool, dry, and dark place in very lightly dampened sawdust or vermiculite. Dahlia tubers can be started indoors in late winter for a jump on the summer flowering season.
