Echinacea Pink Double Delight produces petite pink flowers. Even though this Echinacea has smaller flower heads and is a dwarf coneflower, it blooms for 8 – 12 weeks. Pink double delight attracts butterflies and birds to your garden and is deer resistant. (Echinacea purpurea Pink Double Delight)
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
This is one of the latest hybrids of the famous plains native called Purple Coneflower, but better known today by its botanical name: Echinacea.
For years before it was a favorite of the herbal medicine industry, it was always one of the loveliest wildflowers on the plains.
This large pink-to-purple daisy is a mainstay of all well-grown wildflower meadows, and is also a major color maker in perennial borders. Now you have your choice of the same tough, dependably perennial hybrids in a whole range of colors...and as this one shows you, variable flower forms.
