The Midsummer’s Eve Dahlia Collection features a trio of made-for-each-other blooms that play perfectly together. Muted Café Au Lait lends just enough pink to pair well with Peaches and Cream, whose flecks of deep-burgundy set the stage for the dramatic reddish-black blooms of Arabian Night. All are easy to care for and deer resistant.

Plant Information

The Midsummer's Eve Dinner Plate Dahlia Collection includes 9 dramatic dahlias, with 3 easy-to-plant tubers each of 3 color-coordinated dinner plate varieties. Dinner plate dahlias grow to a height of 4 feet, and will spread between 1 and 2 feet wide. With plants producing loads of blooms ranging from 4 inches wide to 8" inch wide, you'll want to slip a stake into the ground at planting time, to give your dahlias some extra support as they grow and flower (staking after they've developed their extensive foliage can be tricky). For more information about best dahlia growing practices, read our Growing Dahlias page.

Q & A

Plant With These:

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
