(36" x 12-24" wide) 'Florentine Silk' Bearded Iris showers the mid to late
spring garden in delicate shades of pink-peach and lavender. A winner of
multiple American Iris Society awards, it is a profuse bloomer, blooming for
weeks in good weather with large 6-8 inch flowers. Ideal planted with Oriental Poppies,
Allium, and Delphinium, they grow to 36" tall
and are lovely planted as a focal point near an entrance, deck, or pathway. Plant
in a full sun location in well-drained garden soil with some aged compost or
organic fertilizer. As the blooms fade, snap off or cut off the wilted flowers
for a clean look. When all flowers on a stem are finished, cut the stem back at
the base and enjoy the lovely vertical sword-shaped foliage. Easy-to-grow, 'Florentine
Silk' is deer and rabbit resistant.
