Our Fragrant Bearded Iris Collection is a dedication to a flower's most lovable traits – sweet smells and beautiful colors. Early to mid spring begins with 'Peach Jam's' soft peach petals dashed, striped, and splotched with magenta. Mid spring greets you with the light fragrance of 'Florentine Silk,' with soft pink standards (upright petals) lavender falls (downward petals), and a pink-orange beard. Following 'Florentine Silk'.. Like a bright summer sky, 'Absolute Treasure' features cloud-like white petals edged in pale blue, with a sunny yellow beard. 'I'm Back' brings a pop of jewel tones to the mix with amethyst standards (upright petals), velvety plum falls (downward petals), and a golden beard. When you see the giant blooms of 'Velvet Voyage', you'll know the season is in full swing. 'Velvet Voyage' anchors the collection together with rich purple petals. Our Fragrant Bearded Iris collection includes two reblooming varieties. Enjoy a grand finale when 'Peach Jam' and 'I'm Back' return with bright colors and delicate scents in early fall.
Plant in full sun and well-draining soil to encourage the most luscious blooms. To allow bearded irises room to multiply year after year, space rhizomes 12-24 inches apart, buried so that the top rhizome shows through the soil. The roots will grow perpendicular to the stems, spreading out across the soil.
The Fragrant Bearded Iris Collection includes 5 or 15 bulbs (rhizomes) total, featuring one or three of each:
'Forentine Silk' Bearded Iris (mid-to-late spring)
'Peach Jam' Reblooming Bearded Iris (early-to-mid spring and again in late summer-to-early fall)
'Absolute Treasure' Bearded Iris (mid season)
'I'm Back' Reblooming Bearded Iris (late spring and again in early-to-mid fall)
'Velvet Voyage' Bearded Iris (mid-to-late spring)
*Not all plants will be in bloom at the same time, as depicted on the illustration. Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the garden/collection design.
