USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

Plant the Repeat Performance Bearded Iris Collection in beds and borders for dazzling blooms from season to season. Blossoms stand tall on sturdy stems reaching heights of 24-36 inches. The thick flower stalks make excellent cut flowers. The varieties in this collection play off one another for endless pairing in the vase and garden. 'Ziggy' complements the golden beard and bright yellow petals of 'Summer Olympics', while 'Total Recall' accents the unique falls of 'Swept Off My Feet'. Comingle varieties in the garden, planting individual rhizomes 12-24 inches apart. Be careful not to crowd the rhizomes as they will grow and spread over time, sending up even more foliage and flowers. For best results plant shallow, with the top of the rhizome sitting at or just above the soil surface. Then sit back and enjoy the show.

The Repeat Performance Bearded Iris Collection includes 5 or 15 bulbs (rhizomes) total, featuring one or three of each:

Ziggy Re-Blooming Bearded Iris
Total Recall Re-Blooming Bearded Iris
Final Episode Re-Blooming Bearded Iris
Swept Off My Feet Re-Blooming Bearded Iris
Summer Olympics Re-Blooming Bearded Iris

*Not all plants will be in bloom at the same time, as depicted on the illustration. Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the garden/collection design.
