The Red-Hot Bulb Collection ignites your garden or patio with fiery red flowers from early summer to frost. Red hued flowers with a variety of shapes and textures bloom at different times to ensure you always have something sizzling in your garden and for your bouquets. Hummingbirds and butterflies will love this collection too!
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
The Red-Hot Bulb Collection provides gorgeous red flowers for your garden or bouquets from early summer to the first frost. Beginning with bright Red Tiger Lilies in early summer these tall varieties look great in pots or tucked in among the dahlias in this collection. Babylon Red Dinner Plate Dahlias has crimson red blooms up to 8” wide and will bloom mid-summer to frost. For the backbone of this collection we've included vibrant Traderhorn Gladiolus. It will grow 48-60” tall and produces crimson red flowers accented with white throats mid-summer to frost. Whether you decide to plant these together in a garden, or in a collection of containers the Red-Hot Collection delivers a powerful punch of drama. The nerine lilies, gladiolus and dahlias are sensitive to cold and should be dug for storage over the winter in cooler climates. Re-set tender bulbs in spring after the threat of frost.
Our Red Hot Bulb Collection is covers roughly 12 sq ft and contains 23 bulbs:
