‘Jowey Morris’ Semi Cactus Dahlia will energize your summer and fall garden with large, colorful blooms in radiating shades of pink. Petals are burgundy at the base, fading gently to soft pink as the petal narrows, ending with tips of pure white - giving this dahlia flexibility in many color schemes. A sun favorite for gardeners and pollinators alike. With large 6” blooms held on long stems above deep green foliage, plant plenty of ‘Jowey Morris’ Dahlias for excellent cut flowers. (Dahlia)

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information
(20-24” tall x 24” wide) ‘Jowey Morris’ Semi Cactus Dahlia brings pink perfection to the summer and fall garden. ‘Jowey Morris’ is a semi-cactus form of dahlia, characterized by several layers of broad petals that narrow significantly at the tips. The maroon-pink color is deepest at the base and gradually pales to elegant white. Plant tubers in the spring in a well-drained, average to rich soil in a sunny location. Dahlias can tolerate partial shade, but flowering is reduced. Try to find a spot where the tall stems are protected from wind. In cooler climates, dig the tubers in fall, and store in a cool, dry, and dark place in very lightly dampened sawdust or vermiculite. Dahlia tubers can be started indoors in late winter for a jump on the summer flowering season.
