(30-48” tall x 18” wide) The semi-dwarf, tropical habit of Cannova® Rose Canna Lily works hard in the summer garden to provide dramatic accents when heat and humidity hit; but unlike other cannas, the Cannova® series is specifically bred to do well in the cooler conditions and lower light levels of northern gardens. Cannova® Rose Canna Lily is a classic tropical rose-red that holds its large clusters of blossoms on spikes above blueish-green foliage. Well-branching and vigorous, it does wonderfully on the edges of ponds or other water features and can elevate a container planting from ‘good’ to ‘great’ in seconds flat. Hummingbirds love the unusual blooms and gardeners not only enjoy the blooms, but the large, banana-like leaves that unroll alternately along strongly upright stems. Plant in moisture-retentive soil in full sun or light shade. Rhizomes can be stored in frost-free basements over winter in gardens in zones 3-6.
