Plant Information

Echinacea or coneflower has come a long way, the traditional Echinacea that most people are used to is the purple coneflower. But the new varieties come in red, orange, yellow and bi-colors. Echinacea Evening Glow is one of the newest varieties in these colors and happens to be a bi-color. Evening Glow brings birds, bees and butterflies to gather. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the color and birds feast on the seeds. A perfect combination for all sunny perennial beds.

Perennials and spring-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your hardiness zone. Perennial and spring-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. Comments about American Meadows Evening Glow Echinacea:

I planted the 2 Evening Glow coneflowers in my front Santa Fe courtyard. I also have drip irrigation and plenty of sun there. I added compost some GrowPower organic fertilizer, They took off growing right away and produced a LOT of pretty flowers, stated blooming early still going strong in October! I expect them to be huge by next Spring!

    Q & A

    Plant With These:

    USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

    • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
    • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
