Our Hawaiian Sunset Bearded Iris Collection shines with all the color and luminosity of its namesake. It's only natural that this collection starts with 'Summer Olympics,' a sunshine-yellow iris with a fuzzy yellow beard and a sweet fragrance. 'Summer Olympics' rises in early spring and reblooms reliably to brighten your garden through summer and early fall. As its name suggests, 'Dawn Eternal' beams with lemon yellow standards (upright petals) reaching out from violet-purple falls (downward petals). 'Frimousse' energizes like a refreshing summer smoothie with bright peach-orange standards (upright petals), red falls (downward petals) and vivid orange beards. 'Autumn Reisling' blooms with orange ruffled petals with a hint of yellow, glowing like sun-soaked clouds at happy hour after a long day on the beach. When the sun dips below the horizon, the evening sky takes on a warm violet hue. You can find this luminous color in the warm purple petals of the 'Vicar' Bearded Iris. 'Vicar' is notable for ultraviolet beards, 3-branch stems with 8-10 buds each, and 7” blossoms extending like an endless summer night. Flower heights will range from about 24 inches to 40 inches, with 'Summer Olympics' on the slighter side, and 'Dawn Eternal' on the taller end. Count on long-lasting cut flower arrangements when you bring these bold colors indoors.
Plant the Hawaiian Sunset collection in full sun and well-draining soil to encourage the brightest blooms. To encourage bearded irises to multiply, space rhizomes 12-24 inches apart, buried so that the top of the rhizome shows through the soil. The roots will grow perpendicular (at a right angle) to the stems.
