Comments about American Meadows Helenium Ruby Tuesday:

I really thought the flower heads would be a bit bigger, they are pretty small & I was expecting it to not be so upright but a little more on the bushy side. However, having said those things, I have experienced less than stellar performance from first year plants to having them flourish and sometimes triple in fullness and flowering the following year. Thus the reason for the 4 stars, I wouldn't expect anything less from American Meadows and trust completely in their customer service as they have been very positively reactive in the past, I know if I am dissatisfied with a plant, they will make it right.

    Q & A

    Plant With These:

    USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

    • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
    • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
