USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

You can have it all with the sweet and edgy Enchanted Bearded Iris Collection. Enjoy dramatic cut-flower arrangements with your Enchanted Bearded Iris collection. Irises have sturdy foliage and thick stems that are great for long-lasting cut flower arrangements.

Let these enchanting ladies come to life by planting in full sun and well-draining soil. Bearded irises will multiply year after year, so be sure to give their rhizomes (bulbs) 12-24 inches between them when planting. Bury them just enough so that the top of the rhizome shows through the soil, and the roots will grow horizontally.

Our Enchanted Bearded Iris Collection contains 5 or 15 bulbs bulbs total, including one or three of each:

'Haunted Heart' Bearded Iris
'Gnus Flash' Bearded Iris
'Silken Trim' Bearded Iris
'Sugar Blues' Reblooming Bearded Iris
'Raven Girl' Bearded Iris

*Not all plants will be in bloom at the same time, as depicted on the illustration. Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the collection design.
