Our Patchwork Low Grow Lamium Collection forms a vigorous groundcover to brighten shaded areas. Lamium’s beautiful variegated foliage grows densely, thriving under trees and shrubs, and preventing weeds from sprouting. Delicate flowers bloom non-stop from late spring through fall. Our Low Grow Collections are perfect for transforming your yard from lawn to flowers, a few square feet at a time! Plant below taller perennials, as edging for a garden border, or as a no-mow lawn alternative. Collection of 4 or 12 plants.

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

Our Patchwork Low Grow Lamium Collection is ideal for creative planting with groundcovers! Our perennial collections are a great option for enhancing your existing garden, or giving you a head start when planting a new garden. Repeat the collection to fill larger spaces. Though it prefers moist soils, Lamium tolerates dry soils and periods of drought. Plant in light to heavy shade to edge pathways and stabilize soil on slopes. Pair with Hostas, Sedges, and Hellebores in the woodland garden. Lamium has a spreading habit which can be managed by cutting plants back at any time.

Our Patchwork Low Grow Lamium Collection includes 4 plants (1 of each, covers roughly 3-12 sq ft) or 12 plants (3 of each, covers 9-37 sq ft):

Shipped as Potted Plants:
'Orchid Frost' Lamium
'White Nancy' Lamium
'Purple Dragon' Lamium
'Pink Pewter' Lamium

*Plants are subject to change due to availability, and if we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the collection design.

As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat.  The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and spring-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.

Perennials and spring-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your hardiness zone. Perennial and spring-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds.
