Colorful blooms and striking foliage make a shady groundcover

The genus name Pulmonaria and common name lungwort allude to its historic usage as a remedy for respiratory problems. Lungworts form low-growing clumps that slowly spread to form a groundcover without being aggressive and overtaking other plants.
