Little Bluestem delivers a colorful show from a tough native grass

A native prairie grass, Little Bluestem can withstand a range of conditions including arid, low rainfall climates and poor soils. As a tenacious grower, it's excellent at controlling erosion and can be used to stabilize slopes, banks, and other vulnerable areas. And it does all of these things with grace! Little Bluestem's foliage offers hints of silver, blue and pale gray early in the season and is followed by colorful plumes and seedheads before turning a charming rusty-bronze in fall.
