Our Prairie Habitat Plant Collection offers year-round visual interest with a beautiful mix of native plants. As development across the country has reduced natural prairie habitats, our gardens play an important role in helping these healthy ecosystems rebound. This collection includes butterfly host plants and pollinator-friendly flowers that will attract butterflies and bees. Leaving grasses and flower seed heads standing over the winter will provide habitat for hibernating pollinators and seeds to feed birds.
We included both native plants, and native cultivars, featuring plants with a broad native range that are known to grow well together. Repeat this collection to create a meadow-style planting that can fill a flower bed or replace part of your lawn for a beautiful habitat-friendly yard.
The Prairie Habitat Plant Collection includes 6 plants, covering roughly 20 square feet when planted together.
Blazing Star - 1 plant
Pale Purple Coneflower - 1 plant
'Early Sunrise' Coreopsis - 1 plant
Giant Black Eyed Susan - 1 plant
'Shenandoah Red' Switchgrass - 1 plant
'Twilight Zone' Little Bluestem Grass- 1 plant
