Phlox ‘Pink Profusion’ blooms from spring to summer with lavender-pink fragrant flowers. Its diminutive height makes it a perfect choice for a rock garden or garden edge where it can spread a bit and cover places that other plants leave behind. Plant it where spring bulbs will emerge for an extra color kick. (Phlox procumbens ‘Pink Profusion PPAF’)

Plant Information

2-4" tall x 10-14" wide. ‘Pink Profusion PPAF’ is a lovely new Phlox hybrid that has it all. A profusion of lavender-pink flowers with cheery dark-pink centers, surrounded by a white halo, covers the plant from April to June blooming for up to 8 weeks. Its narrow green leaves create a thick evergreen groundcover, banishing weeds. In addition to rock gardens and garden edges, consider planting this beauty with Lavender, Salvia and Coral Bells (Heuchera). Plant ‘Pink Profusion’ in a full sun to light shade location in compost enriched, well-drained soil. Good drainage will ensure peak performance.

Q & A

Plant With These:

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
