Phlox bring mid-summer color for weeks and weeks, tall columns of fragrant flowers, and are some of the easiest perennials to grow. They establish quickly with full sun, and after a year or two, you'll be dividing up healthy perennial clumps. Just a few phlox will add major color to your whole garden; it never fails. Many varieties are deer resistant and some are even mildew resistant. Choose creeping phlox for a low-growing variety that spreads and creates a carpet of color, even over poor and rocky soils.

‘Sherwood Purple’ is the perfect native Phlox for a woodland or shaded area. Its evergreen foliage carpets the ground all year, then, in May, sends up flower spikes on 8-inch stems with fragrant violet-purple flowers that wave above the spring garden. A perfect companion for other woodland bulbs, it is also prized by native pollinators. (Phlox stolonifera ‘Sherwood Purple’)Learn More →

‘Blue Moon’ is a lovely native Phlox groundcover featuring clouds of rich violet-blue blooms that float above green foliage. With fragrance to wake up your senses, it flowers in April – May. It’s a perfect addition to a rock garden or any shady spot where it can slowly naturalize. Provides much needed early season pollen for hummingbirds and butterflies.
