Shasta Daisy Real Charmer lives up to its name with large, buttery-yellow, double petals that gently curve towards a golden center. This Shasta Daisy will bloom early summer until early fall bringing cheer to your gardens and containers. With improved disease resistance flowers will last a long time and make beautiful cut flowers. (Leucanthemum superbum)
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
The Shasta Daisies are great plants, hybridized from a European wildflower. They're not invasive like our common daisy, and usually have larger flowers. Whats more, the flowers are classic white, and look great both in more formal perennial displays and in informal wildflower gardens.
In recent years, the hybridizers have worked on this species, creating various flower forms from doubles to all sorts of variations on the original.
