36-72"
tall x 36-48' wide. 'Pumila' Dwarf Pampas Grass is one of the showiest
ornamental grasses, providing lush texture and contrast. Long, flowing stems
provide strong architecture to the garden and pair well with other bold plant
forms. The gorgeous plumes are sterile, meaning flowers do not produce viable
seed so plants will not become weedy like other pampas grasses. Plants are
adaptable and versatile. Use as a specimen or plant in masses for windbreaks,
backdrops, or as a privacy screen. Grows in any average to dry soil with good
drainage and tolerates challenging conditions such as air pollution, dry winds,
and salty mist. Leave standing for visual interest and habitat over the winter,
then cut back dead foliage in spring, wearing gloves to protect hands form the
sharp blades. Deer and rabbit resistant.
