A beautiful, heat and humidity-tolerant ground cover, Monkey Grass ‘Silvery Sunproof’ features arching green leaf blades with striking, cream-colored edges. Lilac purple flower spikes appear in early to midsummer, adding height to this compact plant. Perfect for edging walkways and borders, ‘Silvery Sunproof’ is resistant to pests and disease and is exceptionally easy to grow. Also known as Lilyturf. (Liriope spicata)

temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
Not a true grass, but actually a member of the lily family sometimes called Lilyturf or Monkey Grass, Liriope is a wonderful dense groundcover under trees and shrubs. Flower spikes of purple bloom in mid-summer. This cultivar, Silvery Sunproof grows only 8-18 inches tall, and has leaves that are striped green and yellow. This is a great plant for adding interest and colorful bloom in both filtered sun or shade.
