Moisture Loving Perennials

Wet soil? Moisture-loving plants won't mind a bit!

Do you have a low-lying area that collects water after a rain storm or is constantly wet? These moisture-loving perennials will tolerate high humidity and thrive in wet or damp conditions that can drown other plants. Because they like their "feet" (roots) wet, they won't complain when you experience heavy rains or when sited in slow-draining soils. They are also less prone to developing diseases associated with excess moisture, such as mildew.

A shorter variety that's perfect for border edges or small-space gardens, Dwarf Larkspur comes into bloom in early to mid spring. Although it draws in a myriad of insects, this plant has a special relationship to both hummingbirds and queen bumblebees, who serve as its only two effective pollinators. (Delphinium tricorne)
