USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

Our Reblooming Daylily Collection gives gardeners two exciting seasons of blooms from some of the lowest maintenance plants we know. Three easy-going varieties will delight with colorful flowers that appear in early summer, and can be coaxed into bloom again before fall sets in. The trick is to keep your daylilies 'deadheaded'; by removing spent blooms, you'll be encouraging the plant to continue producing more flowers.

Sited in full sun, Daylilies need some care and water in their early years, but will gain independence over time, spreading and naturalizing throughout the landscape even in poor soils. As a highly-adaptable plant, Daylilies are famous for their ability to withstand dry spells, long stretches of rainy weather, and even extreme swings in temperature. We think of them as an all-around great garden investment!

Our Reblooming Daylily Collection covers approximately 35 sq ft and contains 9 bare root plants:

'Joan Senior' Reblooming Daylily - bag of 3 bare roots
'Hyperion' Reblooming Daylily - bag of 3 bare roots
'Strawberry Candy' Reblooming Daylily - bag of 3 bare roots

*Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the collection design.
