Excellent branching on this tropical beauty means it can act as filler and thriller in your containers, and massed at the front of borders it’s liable to take your breath away. Cannas love rich, moisture-retentive soil and are suitable for shallow pond margins and container water features. They prefer full sun but will still flower in light shade. Happy Emily’s blooms are self-cleaning for busy gardeners, and stock is certified virus-free, so there are no disease worries. In the fall, in Zones 3-6, you can dig the shallowly-rooted rhizomes and overwinter them in a dark, frost-free location, allowing you to add all the happy members of this wonderful Cannasol™ series to your garden over time.
