You can also force bulbs indoors for off-season blooms. Plant hyacinth in full sun to partial shade in loose, well-drained soil. Plants require adequate drainage to prevent bulbs from rotting during the dormant season. Allow the foliage to mature and die down naturally after blooming to nourishes bulbs for next season's blooms. Hyacinth is hardy in zones 4 to 8. We recommend wearing gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs as they can irritate the skin.
