Gipsy Queen Hyacinth
Description
(10-12" tall) With vivid color and enormous blooms, 'Gipsy Queen' Hyacinth is a knockout, with a peachy color that's unusual for hyacinths. Don't just take our word for it - this cultivar received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society. Tuck groups of bulbs in borders, containers, rock gardens, or mixed planting beds in autumn for some warm tropical-inspired color come spring. A surprisingly versatile flower, hyacinth looks at home in formal garden settings or scattered casually among perennials and groundcovers. Thick, upright leaf blades add bold texture and compliment the full flower clusters. Hyacinth resist browsing by deer and rabbits. Hardy in zones 4 to 8, plants are easy to grow in full to partial sun. Provide a loamy soil with adequate drainage. Allow foliage to die down naturally after blooms, so the bulb can store nutrients for future growth and blooms. We recommend wearing gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs, as they can irritate the skin.
