Description

(12-14" tall) 'Lady Jane' Candlestick Tulip is a species tulip (Division 15), a group known for their ability to perennialize unlike their larger, showier hybrid cousins. 'Lady Jane' performs best in areas with cool, moist winters and warm dry summers. These rugged little beauties can stand up to rough spring weather. 'Lady Jane' is perennial in zones 3-8. To grow as a perennial, remove spent blooms as soon as they die back, but allow foliage to die back naturally. The species does not require an extensive chilling period in winter, making the bulb a good Tulip selection for gardeners in the South, and across the country. Bulbs naturalize best in gardens receiving full to partial sun and with rich, well-drained soils. Rock gardens and containers provide ideal growing conditions.
