Description
18-24" tall x 9-12" wide. An abundance of blooms tops the branched stems of Cherry Caramel Phlox (Phlox drummondii). Petals emerge bone-white and shift to vanilla and caramel colors with age against the dark pink eye for a one of a kind display in mixed beds and borders. Plant along walkways or in patio pots where you can enjoy the delightful lilac-like fragrance. A lovely cut flower, harvest stems when one-third to one-half of the flowers are open. Cherry Caramel Phlox is easy to grow and blooms quickly in the garden. Plant in a rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Plants benefit from filtered afternoon shade in hot climates. Provide even moisture for optimum performance. Deadheading will prolong bloom period. The annual plants can reseed under ideal conditions, so allow some spent blooms to remain if self-sowing is desired.
