Description
36-48" tall x 12-24" wide. The first pure-white foxglove, Snow Thimble Foxglove (Digitalis) blooms early-to mid-summer, adding striking vertical architecture to the garden. A mainstay of the cottage garden, Foxgloves are also perfect for naturalizing in the woodland garden. Plant them around patios and enjoy their glow beneath the moonlight. The white blooms are also stunning against a red brick wall or other dark backdrop. Provide a rich, Acidic and do not allow soils to dry out. Foxgloves produce a basal rosette of deep green foliage and flower in their second year. Commonly grown as a biennial, allow plants to reseed in the garden. Plant with caution, leaves and seeds of Foxglove produce a powerful chemical used as a heart medicine, but toxic if ingested. Plants are deer and rabbit resistant.
