How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
By now, almost everybody knows that the original Echinaceas are the famous plains native wildflowers in pink and white. The common name of the common wildflower is Purple Coneflower. Actually, that flower is really pink, and then there's a variation of the wildling with white flowers. They're better know today by their botanical name: Echinacea.
For years before they were a favorite of the herbal medicine industry, they were always one of the loveliest groups of wildflowers on the plains.
The large pink-to-purple daisy, known as Purple Coneflower is a mainstay of all well-grown wildflower meadows, and is also a major color maker in perennial borders.
In recent years, the hybridizers have been adding new shades to the Echinacea group almost every year. And this mix includes three of the most popular, distinctly different colors.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"I failed to see that this order of 6 coneflowers was for bare root plants. I expected growing plants to arrive in April but they appeared in my mail box! I planted them according to the directions but nothing grew. I also ordered two sets of your ferns last fall and out of the 15 ferns planted the only ones that came up was 6 Marginal Woodland ferns and the two plants that arrived as plants, painted ferns. I will never buy plants on line again. Wasted money."
"We have 6 gardens on the property as well as shrubs dotting the property. I planted this Cheyene Spirit in a strip of garden in front of a stockade fence. I have this same plant in a couple other gardens. Everything grows well usually. This bare root plant never made it above the soil. I gave it lots of time before typing this review. The one in one of my other gardens is bushy already. I've planted just about every plant I can find for Zone 4 but no luck with this one this time. Now I have a vacant spot in my garden until I find something again quickly. I gave 2 stars because it arrived on time."
"Getting roots sounds like a good idea, but it's terrible in practice. All the echinacea root systems died within a couple of months. I got other plans like this (beebalm, sedums, day lillies) and less than half of each made it. I'm an experienced and knowledgeable gardener, and wouldn't buy this again."
"This plant also did not do well and bloomed very late. All that I ordered from American Meadows this year did not do well for some reason even though they went into new soil and had automatic watering system. The lilies I have gotten from you in the past did beautifully so cannot imagine what happened to the new plants."
"Used in flower bed. Everything was great"
"A good performer in the garden."
"with the bag of three I got 2 the same and a white and all are doing great plus the white seems to be a smaller varity"
