Possibly the yellowest Shasta daisy on the market, compact ‘Goldfinch’ will jazz up sunny beds, borders and vases with chic shaggy blooms on strong stems that gradually change from lemon-yellow to cream. ‘Goldfinch’ is a low-maintenance summer bloomer that thrives in average, well-drained soils and is long-blooming. Description
18-20” tall x 18-24” wide. Put some sunny contrast in your beds with ‘Goldfinch’ Shasta daisy! Its compact size and bright color will attract both pollinators and the visitor’s eye, and vigorous fast growth means less time waiting for that mature garden look. Shaggy, semi-double blooms are held several inches above strong green foliage and arrive in summer. They start out lemon-yellow and slowly morph to pale-cream as the season progresses, so you’ll have several shades of yellow on your plant at one time. ‘Goldfinch’ makes a great cut flower and regular deadheading can prolong the garden display. Though this hardy perennial can cope with less moisture, it does prefer regular watering in a sunny site with plenty of drainage. Consider pairing it with the spikes of red-hot poker or blazing star for a eye-catching display.
