USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Plant Information

(6-30" tall) The Rhapsody Bulb Collection opens with a bang in mid-spring with color that lasts and lasts. The bulbs in this collection create a lovely layered effect in the garden. Hot Pink spikes of 'Jan Bos' Hyacinth stand over a carpet of Grape Hyacinth. 'Pretty Princess' Single Early Tulip brings movement to the planting, with dazzling pink and yellow blooms, swaying atop long stems. Rose and yellow accents on the petals of 'Pretty Princess' echo the richly colored blooms of its companions. This generous collection of ninety-tow bulbs is perfect for massing in sunny beds and borders or along walkways. Keep a few bulbs aside to tuck into containers near the doorway where you can enjoy the wonderful perfume! Hardy in zones 3 through 8, provide a well-drained soil and plenty of spring sunshine.

Our Rhapsody Bulb Collection is roughly 4' x 4' if planted together and contains 86 plants:

1. Grape Hyacinth - 64 Bulbs

2. Jan Bos Hyacinth - 12 Bulbs

3. Pretty Princess Single Early Tulip- 10 Bulbs

*Not all plants will be in bloom at the same time, as depicted on the illustration. Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the garden/collection design.
