Hardy, drought-tolerant and colorful flowering hosts for butterflies
Indigo, also known as False Indigo and Baptisia, are native wildflowers with attractive foliage and tall, upright flowers. Hardy and drought-tolerant, this member of the legume family adds beneficial nutrients to surrounding soils as it develops. Very attractive to pollinators, Wild Indigo acts a host to several species of butterflies, including Sulphurs, Eastern Tailed Blues, and Wild Indigo Duskywings. 4’ tall branching plants take their time becoming established and are well worth the wait!
