I planted all 250,000 seeds in a small area prone to weeds. I think all 250,000 seeds came up, although I didn't count them. Needed very little watering to keep them coming up. Thick enough growth to keep 99% of weeds out. Colors are fantastic. Planted in spring of this year and Even in October after much wind and rain, they are still blooming. I can't find anything bad to say about this product from American Meadows. Will definitely purchase from them again.

Easy to plant, zero maintenance. These have been blooming the whole season and I love looking out the window and seeing them. However, they have been primarily cosmos and one other similar flower. All the others are skimpy or non-existent. And the cosmos are about 7-8 feet tall! BUT the reason we did the flowers was because our ground doesn't grow veggies very well, so I suspect we have some soil issues, which could explain the strange wildflower growth too! Anyway, not what I expected, not what it's supposed to be, but still easy and very pretty!

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

We have enjoyed months of gorgeous wildflowers on our farm with this mix. I roughly tilled up 1/2 acre and spread a 10lb bag of seed in early Spring. At first I was worried that I didn't give the seed enough attention as I just threw it down, didn't cover it and gave it absolutely NO water other than the first rains that came 4 weeks after planting. I was sure the project flopped, but about 6-8 weeks after planting we started getting all these gorgeous flowers for months. We have since bought 20lb of fall and perennial mix to see how that goes as we are so happy with our wildflowers!

We have stopped vegetable gardening and wanted to try creating a colorful wildflower garden. We rototilled the old garden, used a spreader to distribute the seeds, and compressed the soil by running our compact tractor over them. The results are gorgeous!

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

We moved into a new house in March, I spread this mix in front of the front porch in mid-May and had flowers by the 1st of July. I was very impressed by this mix and discovered several flowers that I love. The plants kept blooming until November and I collected seeds from my favorite plants (Sulphur Cosmos - it got much taller than the advertised 33" and is very striking, Rose Mallow - also very tall but beautiful, and Pot Marigolds) to spread in other areas of my yard. I got a ton of compliments from visitors and my new neighbors. I could've done with fewer Cornflowers (I ended up pulling out a lot of them) and I missed out on the spring flowers because I planted so late, but overall I loved it.

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

We wanted to fill in a new area quickly and have some color. The tall plants eventually dominated and overshadowed the smaller ones. We expected more purples and not so much coleus.

We did not know if we should cut down growth mid summer to encourage reblooming or not and by September things looked tattered.

Terrific variety, colors and long blooming season. Must have frequent, if not daily watering, lots of sun and rich soil. Not best choice for "naturalized" meadows and care from only Mother Nature. Great in containers 6-8 weeks after planting.

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

This mix was beautiful from the very beginning. I added a zinnia mix, and have had color in the large bed (100 ft by 10 ft.) from early in the season until now, almost mid-August. Next year I will add another later blooming option, in addition to zinnias, just for variety. This wildflower project has exceeded my expectations and brought much joy, to me, my neighbors, and loads of birds, bees and butterflies. Thanks so much!!

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

This was my first attempt to plant and grow wild flowers.

I used the product on road frontage just behind our fence. The area was about 20' wide by 300' long. I weed killed and then harrowed the area. The seeds were hand broadcast after being mixed with sand. I then drove the tractor over the entire area to compress the seeds into the ground.

Germination seemed excellent. I had a beautiful sea of different colored blooms.

In early August as some of the blooms faded and weeds began to grow higher than the blooming flowers. I mowed the area with a bush hog mower set as high as possible. I was able to leave 12 to 16" of plant. Now the flowers have regrown and many are in bloom again.

It was easy. They looked great. My neighbors loved it, especially the neighbor with honey bees. There were so many butterflies that next year I may need to install signs that says "Slow Down-Butterfly Crossing".

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

I grew these flowers for my wedding and was not dissapointed. My wedding was filled with gorgeous blooms and I had 10 times more than I could use with just 1/4 lb of seeds. It did require consistent watering and light dusting to prevent against mold and beetles, but well worth it.

Germination to seed in NorthWest Ohio took 9 weeks.

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

I've been growing this mix for six years now, planting only once. Just one mowing in the late fall is the only maintenance required, reseeds itself perfectly. Every year's mix of flowers is different but no one variety has taken over.

We turned our lawns into meadows this year and this was the first bag we mixed in. WOW. Then we put in more specialized and perennial mixtures and started to add specific colored plants. It is terrific, and will be even more so next year when the seeds of the seeds return.

Comments about American Meadows All Annual Wildflower Seed Mix:

I used this mix as a wildflower area in a three acre meadow I keep mowed. It came in great and bloomed all summer. The flowers arrived in waves with plenty of color early growing taller as the summer went by with different plants blooming colorfully all the time.

I always put this mixture down with the perennial mix to add some extra color while I am waiting for the perennials to take hold. Great color and lots of complements.

                                            Plant With These:

                                            USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

                                            • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
                                            • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
