Our Fire Restoration Mixture contains a variety of annual and perennial Wildflowers, including Purple Coneflower, Blanket Flower, Black Eyed Susan and more, that can be used in firewise plantings in the United States. These varieties boast higher moisture content, produce less fuel and are more compact than most plants. All of the seed we handle at American Meadows is non-GMO, neonicotinoid-free and guaranteed to grow.

If you live in an area of the country that is subject to fires, try planting our Fire Restoration Mixture. It contains over 15 varieties that have higher moisture content, produce less fuel and have lower amounts of volatile oils.

This mixture contains 17 wildflowers, 1 annual for first-year color, plus 16 perennials or biennials for second and successive years' bloom.

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
