What's in this Mix?

A mix of 9 annuals. This is your year to finally say ‘goodbye’ to that high maintenance grass lawn and replace it with low maintenance wildflowers! Why wildflowers over grass? Wildflowers offer up food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, they require mowing only once (!) per season, and after they reach a few inches in height they don’t need much supplemental water. The Wildflower Lawn Simplicity Mix is for those of you looking for a shorter, more simple look in your front or back yard. 9 quick-growing, quick-blooming annuals offer up color from spring all the way through frost. The short height of this mix should satisfy local lawn-height ordinances and HOA regulations. Those after a more diverse and vibrantly colored look might appreciate our Wildflower Lawn Variety Mix with 20 varieties.

Q & A

Plant With These:

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
