Description
16-24" tall x 18-24" wide. ‘Hello Yellow’ provides a unique twist on an old favorite. Butterfly weed is the most well-known member of the native milkweed family and a celebrated monarch host plant. A low-growing milkweed, the flat-topped flowers are beloved by a host of pollinators including hummingbirds, honey bees, native bees, and a diversity of butterflies. A delightful addition to mixed beds and borders, provide adequate drainage and plenty of sunshine. Butterfly weed is drought tolerant once established making a great addition to sustainable landscapes. Plant in mass for a dynamic display. Deadhead plants after the first flush of blooms to encourage continued flowering. Though butterfly weed lacks the milky sap typical of its milkweed relatives, plants are resistant to deer and rabbit browsing. This is one of our most beautiful native wildflowers.
