Overview
Cassata Daffodil is best described as delicate, yet, its large flowers make an even larger statement in the landscape. A mid-season bloomer, ‘Cassata’ is a split-corona daffodil whose pale lemon cup is separated into large ruffled segments that lie on top of pale white petals. As it ages, the entire flower fades to white. Beautiful for bouquets. Deer resistant. Full sun. (Narcissus ‘Cassata’)

Description

(16-18” tall) Cassata Daffodil (Narcissus ‘Cassata’) is an old favorite that folds its large lemon-yellow cup back against pure white petals – almost matching them in size. As it ages, the 4” cup fades to white. All sections of the flower have a delicate translucence about them, beautifully capturing the essence of spring. ‘Cassata’ is a mid-season bloomer and can extend your Daffodil season if planted with early-and late-season Daffodils, or with other contrasting bulbs like Muscari. Daffodils are remarkably hardy bulbs and remain at the top of the list for deer resistant flowers. Naturalize ‘Cassata’ in a meadow, or along a stream bank for a delicate accent, and don’t forget to cut a few of the strong blooms for indoor bouquets. Plant 6” deep in well-drained, well-fed soil with a position in full sun or light shade.
