Description
36-60" tall x 36" wide. New York Aster, a North American native (also known as Purple Aster, or Aster novae-belgii) grows to about 3 - 5 feet with large, deep violet blooms. It is also commonly referred to as Michaelmas Daisy. New York Aster prefer moist thickets, meadows or lightly shaded woodlands. It adapts well to cultivated gardens in well-drained, moisture-retentive soils but always prefers full sun. Immune to bunny chewing and attractive to all forms of pollinators for late-season nectar.
