Liatris
Also known as Blazing Star, Liatris is a native prairie beauty that blooms from Canada to Mexico. With tall, feathery spikes and strong wildlife appeal, it’s a favorite of migrating butterflies and hummingbirds.

Why Plant Liatris?
Liatris is one of the great beauties of the American plains, and grows wild all the way from Canada to Mexico, making it a natural favorite for migrating wildlife, such as hummingbirds and butterflies. Today, it's a big favorite of florists for dramatic arrangements. The foliage is grass-like, forming a fountain from which the flower spikes arise. The roots are bulb-like and easy to grow. But remember, this plant is from the wide open spaces. It needs full sun and fast-draining soil. No loamy mush! (We also sell Liatris seeds.)
